AMSA 2027
Join Australia's marine science community in Adelaide to share research, spark collaborations and explore how our oceans, coasts and communities can thrive through change.
Welcome to AMSA 2027
We’re thrilled to welcome the Australian Marine Science community to Adelaide from 18–22 July 2027.
If you’ve heard the old jokes about Adelaide being boring, prepare to be pleasantly surprised. Adelaide is a vibrant city with exceptional food, coffee, the world’s best wine, festivals, and easy access to some remarkable natural environments, including the Great Southern Reef.
The conference comes at a particularly important time for South Australia. Following the recent Harmful Algal Bloom event, ocean health, coastal resilience, and the relationship between people and marine environments are front of mind across the state. Against this backdrop, the theme of AMSA 2027, Resilience in a Changing Ocean, invites us to explore how communities, industries, ecosystems, and governance systems can adapt and thrive in environmental change.
We’ll gather at the newly renovated Amora Hotel Adelaide, located in the heart of the city and just steps from the iconic Adelaide Central Market. Together, we’ll celebrate the latest marine science research, share ideas, strengthen collaborations, and help shape the future of our oceans and coasts.
We can’t wait to welcome you to Adelaide in July 2027.
